FRUITFUL!

Baby tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries - very exciting!!!!

IT'S A JUNGLE IN HERE

Last year we attempted to grow tomatoes in Lily's bow but they got fried by the sun when we weren't here.  This year, however, we should be on board enough to hopefully keep them from harm.  At least that's the story so far.  After a flurry of small but successful jaunts to various garden centres, Lily is now blessed with pansies, herbs, a tomato plant and a cucumber plant and all are blooming so well that we're rapidly running out of room in the bow!

BAKING!!!!

Well, my first attempt at baking on the boat proved a very worthwhile occupation, I think I need to do this more often! Yummy!

JUST NICE

NEW BABIES

After waiting what seemed like an age this year, our local cygnets have hatched and come to visit with their mum and dad.  Bit of a rubbish picture but you can get the gist.

BREAKFAST TIME

I love the canal this time of year, the best view to eat your breakfast to ever!

SHADY GOINGS ON

So it finally looks like Spring has sprung, bringing with it lots of warm sun.  Usually this is a massive blessing but when you have 5 windows all facing south west, as we do when at our home mooring, the heat can get somewhat intense and actually cook whatever or whoever is inside the boat!  With this in mind, I did some research and discovered some solar mesh on Amazon.  I ordered enough to make screens for all 5 windows and they work a treat.  It's mildew and fade resistant and cuts out around 80% of the heat through the windows - perfect!  The dogs were most impressed!
