Where it all began

This particular journey started on the 9th February 2013 when we picked up the keys to our newly acquired venture, a 48ft Narrowboat called Roma Jean, who we've since re-named Lily.  She was sturdily built in 1981 by Colecraft boat builders and was very much loved and nurtured by her first owners.  However, like so many narrowboats, she was eventually sold on and in time, neglected.

So, our mission to turn her back into a homely and well loved little tin can began in earnest a week later,  on the 16th February when we got to drive her for the first time along the Kennet and Avon canal, to the dry docks where the major work was to begin . . .

  1. Hello, lovely to see my Dads old boat RomaJean getting some love and attention once again, after she looks like has been neglected.
He had her for many years up until 2004 when he then had to sell her and she was spotless then.
I see that some of my Dad&s old work has lasted, including the plate that holds the throttle and all the back decking.
If you send me you email address I can send you some photos of her and a bit of her history (including how my Dad got her name). Jerry
